Proprietary Product Sales Forces
Proprietary products are marketed under the Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Inc. label by three sales teams:
Women's Healthcare Sales Force
The Duramed Women's Healthcare Sales Force consists of
approximately 200 sales representatives. The sales force currently promotes SEASONIQUE® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl
estradiol) extended-cycle oral contraceptive, ENJUVIA™ (synthetic conjugated estrogens, B) estrogen therapy product,
and PLAN B® (levonorgestrel) OTC/Rx emergency contraceptive to women's healthcare practitioners. This sales force may
market additional women's healthcare products developed or acquired by the Company.
Specialty Products Sales Force
Duramed has a sales force of approximately 90 representatives that promotes
the PARAGARD® IUC product, the MIRCETTE® oral contraceptive product and the AMNISCREEN™ at-home amniotic fluid
leakage detector to obstetricians, gynecologists and other practitioners focusing on women's healthcare. This sales force also
promotes Niaspan® (niacin extended-release tablets) and Advicor® (niacin extended-release/lovastatin tablets) cholesterol
treatments under an April 2005 co-promotion agreement with Abbott Laboratories (formerly Kos Pharmaceuticals Inc.).
Institutional Sales Force
The Duramed Institutional Sales Force includes approximately 40 representatives
who promote the Company's full proprietary product portfolio at teaching hospitals and other institutions, calling primarily on
attending physicians and residents. In addition, this sales force promotes generic injectables to various hospitals. This sales team
will also be positioned to increase awareness of Barr's planned entry into generic biologics.
